Sweetness Overview

Rylee (Kate Halett), 16, lives with her father Ron (Justin Chatwin), who's a police officer. Her dad has a new girlfriend who wants to bond with her, but Rylee isn't having that. Rylee's bedroom is covered with posters of her all-time favorite singer, Payton Adler (Herman Tømmeraas), who fronts the band Floorplan. She and her best friend, Sidney (Aya Furukawa) have tickets to see their concert.

After the show, Rylee goes to take a look at the merchandise, while Sidney goes off with her boyfriend, promising to come back to get Rylee. But Sidney doesn't show up and as Rylee's waiting for her, Payton exits from backstage, jumps in a car and hits her. Luckily Rylee isn't injured, so he offers to give her a drive home, although first he makes a stop to get drugs.

It quickly becomes apparent that her rockstar crush is a dysfunctional drug addict, and after his impaired driving results in a crashed car, Rylee decides to take him home, determined to get him clean. She may be shy, unpopular, and inexperienced, but there’s one thing Rylee’s confident in — Payton needs her, whether he likes it or not. But even with the best of intentions, her plan to help him turn his life around soon takes a dark and sinister turn as Rylee becomes hell-bent on turning her teenage fantasies into reality.
