Cherchant à fuir son passé, Millie (Sydney Sweeney) accepte un emploi comme domestique résidente chez Nina (Amanda Seyfried) et Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar), un couple fortuné. Ce qui semblait être un travail de rêve se transforme rapidement en quelque chose de beaucoup plus dangereux — un jeu séduisant et sulfureux fait de secrets, de scandales et de pouvoir.
